So, it’s my birthday today, and not only do I have to work all day (ah, the joys of customer service during the holiday season!), but I have an interview for a possible promotion (that I don’t think I’ll get but hey, you never know) so I can’t even be a slacker and pretend to work all day while instead fiddling with the awesome new toys I’m hoping to get at my birthday lunch with the hubby and my mom (hello Kindle and iPod Nano!)

Sigh.

So yeah. I’m not sure how to approach this interview. I’ve only been working at my job for three months, so I’m still sort of a newbie around there. I’m also pretty sure that one of my coworkers who started when I did also applied, and from outward appearances he seems to be perfect for the job. And there are probably several people who have been around for ages who also applied. But! They don’t seem like the type of company that would grant pity interviews, so I must have at least a small chance, right?

Really the only reason I applied was so that I would be seen as a ‘go-getter’ and be considered for the next round of promotions once I’d actually worked there for more than five seconds.

I’m rambling, aren’t I? Well, maybe this got it out of my system so I’ll be all kinds of clear and concise during my interview. Wish me luck!
