I went to my very first tweet up ever last night (although it was more of a Tumblr-up in my mind). I admit, I didn’t have great expectations. The great thing about the Internet is that people can portray themselves however they want. As someone who has rescued customers from many a bad Internet first date (a service I offer to any bar customer smart enough to ask - so remember this the next time you go on a blind date at a bar - the bartender is your friend!), I know that people don’t always live up to the image they portray on the interwebs. So I really didn’t know what to expect when I walked into the Mars Bar in San Francisco last night.
And I have to say. I was pleasantly surprised! These people are amazing in real life! They’re funnier, cuter, more outgoing…all around better in real life than they are on their tumblrs or in their tweets. It was amazing, and you bet your ass that I’ll be attending more of these tweetup things in the future.
Discovery is pretty awesome sometimes.
