1. And now for the New Year’s Resolution part of the day.

As I embark on 2010, I find myself at a stepping off point for some great new adventures. I’ve set some lofty goals for myself, and I figure the best way for me to follow through with them is to share them with all of you lovely people.

My ‘official’ New Year’s Resolution is to make better use of my time. No more sitting like a lump on the couch, bored out of my mind. There are things to do! I’m going to get out there and do them! I want to run, ride my bike, practice my guitar, sew amazing clothes, knit cute baby sweaters for my nephew, bake delicious gluten free goodies, post to Tumblr more regularly, learn how to use the boyfriends fancy camera, visit new and exciting places (SF in a few weeks!), meet new people, get out there and enjoy life - and I figure the best way to do all those things is to take advantage of every free moment. If I’m doing that, I can’t help but accomplish all my other goals!

    1. I recently discovered a love of cooking and baking. This whole gluten free thing the boyfriend is going through is posing an interesting challenge. I hope to perfect some gluten free recipes and share them here (if it gets to be too much, let me know and I’ll make a separate tumblr for them.) The boyfriend has promised to take pictures of my successes so I have some pretty pictures to post with my experimental recipes.

    2. I’ve decided to do a little 365 day project of my very own, and that is that I plan to take a picture every day that captures my mood. I’m thinking it might be a little attention whore-ish to post them all, so I’ll try to keep my sharing to a minimum. I’m looking forward to this time next year when I can see just how amazingly happy I was in 2010.

    3. I’m really excited to participate in the ‘Sense of Place’ project that @frageelaytwit has dreamed up. Having moved around, well, a lot, I’ve got some interesting ideas about home and what it means, and I can’t wait to share them with you all! I’ve got a few posts rattling around in my brain already, I’m just waiting for 2010 to start so I can get started.

    4. I am also excited to participate in the non-committal 52 weeks thing that @inthefade has planned.  I think it will fit in beautifully with my ‘make better use of my time’ plan.

    4. I am determined to stick it out with this crappy office job for a little while longer. They’re paying for me to go back to school, so there’s that. I do, however, intend to get a second job at a bar so I don’t lose touch with my restaurant world roots. I’m itching to pour some cosmos for some bitchy girls, or make Jaeger bombs for a bunch of obnoxious frat boys. (Okay, not really - I mostly miss the random conversations with amazing people who just happened to wander into my bar.) Oh, and the extra money would be nice too.

    5. I’m going to go back to school and get a degree in accounting (I know, yawn!) I want to own my own bar someday, and an accounting degree can’t hurt, and my current employer will pay for it, so why not? I can’t afford to open my own place right now anyway. So yeah - 2010 better be good to me! Happy New Year everyone - I hope you get to spend the evening (or spent the evening if you’re ahead of me) with someone you love.
