1. more 52 weeks things news and notices and crap.

    inthefade:

First, a big, big thank you to Rod (toldorknown) who surprised and delighted me by purchasing the domain name 52weeksthing.com for me to have my way with.

I decided how I’m going to do this. It’s a way that is minimal work for me yet still allows me to do what I wanted to do.

The deal is this: I want to aggregate all of your submissions to the 52 weeks thing. But I don’t want to do it one by one at a tumblr because I want your work - whether it be on a tumblr, flickr, your website, whatever - to get the hearts and favs and comments. I don’t want the stuff on the aggregating tumblr to get the applause you should be getting.

So what I’m going to do is, each Saturday I will write a summary of the week. A paragraph or two explaining who submitted and what the theme was and probably compliment the hell out of all you and stuff like that. And I’ll link to all your submissions instead of reblogging them, so people who missed them when you posted them will go to your place to see them. Does this make any sense? It does in my head, but that’s not really saying much.

What I’d also like to do is highlight a person in the group each week (I’d actually have to do about two a week to get everyone in over the course of the year). Just a little profile about you, links to sites/twitter/tumblr/whatever you want or don’t want. Maybe get a quote from you about creativity or something.

My sister is going to help out with the themes by printing out all your suggestions and making them into little slips of paper we can stick in a hat so the pick each week is totally random. You can still email me theme suggestions.

If anyone - anyone at all - would like to volunteer to summarize one of the weeks or do one of the profiles I would greatly appreciate it. I especially need someone to do it the week I will be away in February.

Comments, suggestions, questions, tell me why the above ideas won’t work?

Have I mentioned that I’m excited about this? Because I am. I am also ready and willing to help out if you need it.
