A Sense of Place, Week 1 Starts Friday!
Feel free to reblog.
This project will be loosely structured and simple, because that works best:
Every week (a week = Sun-Sat) in 2010, share a photograph, and if you’d like, a story about the place you call home. Tag it ‘A Sense of Place.’ That’s it.
Play with the rules. Bend them or break them. Post illustrations or paintings instead of photographs. Post stories some weeks and just captions if you’re not in a writing mood.
The bottom line: make something interesting and inspiring and fun and gritty and real and ______ to you, and that will shine through to us.
NO expensive cameras or professional writing/photography skills are required. This is FUN, not a competition or an excuse to pile drive yourself into your hometown’s pavement.
I’ll post reminders periodically, at least in the beginning of the year. I’m not going to create a separate Tumblr for this, we’ll just do our own thing within our own things because it’s simpler and it’ll reach more people that way.
I’m going to use this as an excuse to improve my photography skills, get my ample ass out of my work-at-home hovel at least once a week, and to finally work on this project because I’ve had it in mind since I moved to this lovely and diverse rural county eight years ago.
There’s also a companion flickr group. All are welcome.
Maybe we can make this into a photo book where we submit our personal best at the end of 2010. How fun would that be?
Questions?

I’m so excited!
