Generally, I hate New Year’s Resolutions, because I think it really just sets people up to fail, but this year, I’m thinking I might like to make one. Just one. Because really, one is enough, isn’t it? So, I think that my big New Year’s Resolution will be to make better use of my time. I procrastinate too much. I start projects and never finish them. I make grand plans to go running, or play guitar more regularly, or even just keep my bathroom clean, and I never seem to find the time. During the time that I could be running, I choose instead to lounge in bed, cuddling with my dog. Not that it’s so horrible to cuddle with my dog, but I should really get my lazy ass out of bed and go for a run instead. The dog can get his cuddles in the evenings when I’m hanging on the couch with the boyfriend. I also think that it’s a better resolution than the typical lose weight, exercise more, practice guitar every day resolutions that I would inevitably give up on before February rolls around. This is more general, and therefore (in my mind at least) a little more achievable. I’m going to (try to) participate in a couple 365 projects this year too, but I think those will fit in with my goal to use my time wisely as well.
Wish me luck!
