Okay people. If you go to a restaurant with a group of friends, and don’t specify that you want separate checks BEFORE you order ANYTHING, then unless you’re very lucky, you can’t have separate checks. Be mature adults and divide things up amongst yourselves. If your friends are notorious for not paying their fair share, then find better friends!
Oh, and while I’m on the subject, when I tell you that we don’t do separate checks, but that we can accept more than one form of payment, writing a list of the items each person had is NOT acceptable. If I could separate items, I would just give you separate checks. I need a dollar amount, asshole.
(In case you hadn’t already guessed, I waited on more than my share of crazy demanding groups of tourists today, and I’ve had it!)
